Culture - Innsbrucker Festival Weeks

BinderS, Hotel Innsbruck

The Festival Weeks of old music have been annually celebrated since 1976 in Innsbruck. Nicolaus Harnoncourt, John Eliot Gardiner, René Jacobs as well as Alan Curtis all conducted magnificent opera performances. All lovers and fans of art and culture can again expect a programme full of highlights in 2013.

The Tyrolean state theatre has been the main venue for the productions in the last decades, productions that reached from renaissance to baroque. The Spanish Hall at Ambras Castle, the Giant Hall at the Hofburg as well as the Jesuit church served as stages for the Innsbruck Festival Weeks.

Former years’ highlights

  • 2012: La Stellidaura vendicante, 3 act opera by Francesco Provenzale
